Saturday night - Crater Lake

We spent most of Saturday on the road driving all the way from WA to Crater Lake, OR. It's one of the longest stretches of driving that we'll do while on this trip. When we finally arrived at our "cabins" at Mazama Village at Crater Lake, we were greeted by hundreds (maybe thousands) of it's hungriest residents. The car was surrounded. I took this picture of one that landed on the sun roof.

One of the things we were NOT expecting was the amount of snow at Crater Lake. The kids got a kick out of being able to climb around in the snow, but didn't stay out too long because of the mosquitos. We spent the night in our rooms playing Dutch Blitz and reading Mr. Men stories.

More Crater Lake tomorrow...

Wow! The pic of the mosquito makes it seem very big!! Snow and mosquitos just don't seem to go together do they? Dutch Blitz...I haven't played that in a while. Chris always wins (;0)
