Finally, something to post about!

This post has given me nothing but trouble. I have been trying to get it posted for nearly a week, but I still can't get all the pictures that I want to upload. So, unfortunately, the better pictures that I wanted to put at the top of the post aren't here. This is driving my crazy!

Anyhow....
We've been incredibly busy looking for a new house (which we finally found!), but we took the time to do a few fun things. I had hoped to go to the American History museum, but that museum has been closed for renovation for the last TWO years! They open in November and I'm really glad that they decided to do the renovation while I was away, because the American History museum is one of my favorites at the Smithsonian and I would be sad if we weren't able to go there. Since the kids weren't interested in the National Gallery of Art, I took them to the Natural History Museum.

We wandered through the hall of mammals and looked at a lot of dead animals and skeletons. I have to say that I'd really rather go to the zoo and see the living, breathing versions. Then we hit the gems and minerals section.

Quincy liked the color combo on these rocks.

Grant took this picture of the orange spiky things.

This is supposed to be the inside of a crystal, but it was more like a wacked out dream.

If they won't let me take home the hope diamond, maybe the kids can get me these for my birthday.

The giant sloth was the coolest thing that Julia saw while we were there.

I'm glad to see you back blogging. I've missed it. You now have so many places you can visit. Save some trips for when we visit. Tell me about the house or send pics.
