You Capture: Sunrise/ Sunset

This weeks theme at "I should be folding laundry's" you capture was sunrise/ sunset.
For a while I didn't think I'd be able get a decent picture of either due to some really rainy weather, but the rain eventually lifted and left us with some foggy mornings.
This picture is the sunrise through the fog as seen from my backyard.

Later in the day, I was able to catch this sunset from the balcony off of my bedroom.
Well.... it sort of looked like that... I did a bit of photo editing.
Not too much, just tweaked the colors a bit, but somehow that felt like cheating.
I know that everyone does it and some really cool pictures are created when you use photo editing, but I always want to take the perfect picture just with natural light and my camera.
(If you could see my camera, you'd laugh and maybe be shocked that I get any pics at all.)

Sooo... I thought I'd throw in the original, just to keep me honest. :)
I have to admit, a little tweaking works wonders!

Find more and probably infinitely cooler sunrise/sunset photos here.

I like trying to capture reality without editing too. But sometimes things look better with a little alteration! (I have a little point and shoot that I use.)

Hey, you don't see any pics in professional magazines that aren't edited! Both the edited and non-edited are pretty! I love the foggy sunrise one too!

What lovely captures! And don't apologize for tweaking-I did too! But I also want to take great pictures SOOC!

I hear you. Me too. I tweak the light spectrum so that it will become a little more clear, which actually sometimes works. But isn't it fun, too, to play around with it and become really artsy? Even with just a few little moves? I'd so like to actually learn how to do more stuff, but for now, I just tweak the light. =)

I agree. A little tweaking did change your photo a lot but I love both the original and the tweaked versions. They're both beautiful and the sunrise through the fog picture is awesome!

These are beautiful, tweaking or not! I can totally see the first one, with the fog, making a great oil painting. Hmm. Wish I knew how to paint...

Love the pics! Even though you may have edited it a little, it's probably more like you remember it, right? Sometimes I think my mind's eye is a little more vivid than my lens!
