Living Egg-stravagantly

People do funny things when faced with a big storm and the possibility of being "stuck" inside for a while.
This past Thursday, our last clear day before Snowmageddon hit the DC area, I took a look at my supplies and decided that the one thing I absolutely needed before the storm hit was more dishwasher detergent.  Getting snowed in is one thing, but getting snowed in AND washing dishes by hand all weekend is something I didn't want to do!
A girl has to draw the line somewhere!!!
I had no intention of going crazy and buying a month's worth of supplies.  I just needed some detergent and maybe some ground beef.
But, then I wondered, "Do I have eggs at home?"
I couldn't remember, so to be on the safe side, I picked up Costco's super-sized package of eggs.
Only to get home and find that I already had a Costco sized package of eggs in my refrigerator!
Oops!

I am now the proud owner of 56 grade A, extra large eggs!
I counted.

What does one do with 56 eggs?

Well, so far, we have had:
3 poached eggs
2 eggs in a brownie batter
2 eggs for meatloaf
and
1 fried egg.
Ummmm... that's only eight eggs.
Only 48 more eggs to go.
Anyone hungry?  I could whip you up a mean omelet!

I'm linking this up to Lisa's Chaos for Macro Monday.

Egg salad sandwiches? Potato salad? Time to dress the kids in plastic and send them out in the snow to enjoy a good old-fashioned egg toss game?

Loved the macros AND the story! 48 eggs? By the eighth of March ? That's only twelve a week? ROFL!!!

Hahahahaaha!! That's funny! Fifty six eggs ... mmm. Well, there are cakes and cookies, pancakes and omelets, cookies, eggs as eggs - and in cakes - and cookies and pancakes. And pikelets. And custards. Don't forget the cookies and cakes! ;)

And yes, you're right. ;)

i'm amazed you counted where each one went! but, they ARE necessary for quick cooking and recreational cooking when you're stuck inside!

Eggies (my granddaughter's word for eggs) are good for you. You must make some egg salad now for sandwiches. My mom used to make a sponge cake that called for a dozen egg yolks, then she would always make an angel food cake with the whites.

I think the last photo is fantastic Colleen. The colors are perfect and the composition just so.

What an eggcellent post! How about making a quiche along with all the other suggestions.

Grammie/Mom beat me to the quiche idea. That's a lot of eggs, maybe it's time to invite the neighbors over for brunch. Great macros.

Oh, that's funny . . . I typically purchase the 1/2 dozen package of eggs! Pound cake and cheese cake would make use of several eggs too! Thanks for stopping by my blog! Happy Macro Monday!
