A few favorites from the week

These are a little random.
I'll work on a more cohesive post a little later.
But I thought I'd join Lotus' Weekly Winners meme this week,
because I think I got a few good shots!
Of all the pictures that I took while we were at the museum yesterday,
this is my favorite.
I don't know why, exactly.
It just is.

The reflection in the window of the train on the way home from DC.

Lamp post at the metro station...
I think people were looking at me weird when I took this.  :)

That telephoto lens that I mentioned yesterday?
One of the reasons that I bought it was to get better shots of the birds in the backyard.
So I sat on my couch, camera and lens in hand, all afternoon and the next morning
waiting for a bird... any bird to show up.
But they didn't!

There's a park nearby with a bunch of bird feeders that are regularly visited by our feathered friends.
 So I went to them.

Caught ya!

He he!!
I think he might hurt me if he knows that I posted this,
but he never reads my blog, so I feel safe.
What a cheese ball!

And I just can't have a weekly winners post without this shot!!!
I'm still thrilled with it!
CRATERS!

your telephoto lens kicks my telephoto lens ass. I loved the birdy pics (I waited the other day just like you, but I totally gave up.) As far as the moon pic. AWESOME!

I hate lima beans, too. Oh and I've never tried moo-shoo pork. I should! Does it have MSG? I agree, mustard on a hot dog is a MUST. Have a fun Sunday!

That last one is VERY impressive. What kind of lens? What f-stop? Tripod? I gotta know!

I think the moon shot is definitely my favorite! Though you do seem to almost have a Tom Cruise via Top Gun clone there ;)

Everyone... thanks so much for your comments. I'm thrilled with the moon shot! For those who asked, here's the info.
I used a Canon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS lens set at f/7.1 with iso-400. Really, I just kept changing the settings until i found one that worked. (For the one really good picture I had 50 not so good ones.)

Love the shots of the birds! I want a telephoto lens so bad. *sigh* Don't think I'll ever get it, though. Ah,well...maybe someday. Regardless, I love your shots this week!
