Loving life

On our first day of vacation, after we had rested from our marathon trip that started at 2am,
and after the kids got to experience the all you can eat extravaganza that is the military galley.
(Oh, the happy teenage faces!)
We wandered over to the beach to watch the sunset.

I was so happy to be spending time with this guy.

And to watch him play with the kids.

Quincy loved the water... it was warm!

But I think that Grant loved it more.

We didn't get an opportunity to go to the beach at all last summer
and we all felt the lack.
This trip fed that need.

Fossils!
As the daughter of a rockhound, I was thrilled to find fossils everywhere!

That baby above is mine!
Took it home with me.

Even Kevin took a moment to enjoy the view.

We all love the sight, sound and feel of the waves crashing against the shore.
Leaving footprints in the sand.

and observing an amazing sunset.

hey- look at that- you have prints on your blog this week too- LOL!!!

Those fossil shots and the comment of warm water helped me to realize not only what a special time you were having, but what a special place it was, too. So happy for you all :)

Hey, I answered your Picnik editing question in the comments section over at my place just incase anyone else had the same question.

Have a great weekend!

I love the first picture with your "guy"! Of course, the rest are also terrific. Dad will like seeing your fossil pics. The first one looks like a little skull with the eye sockets peeking at you! And the footprint....you got me!!

This sounds pretty close to perfect. And the photos are wonderful! I grew up in a town next to the Atlantic Ocean. Your photos are making me want to visit the shore. :)
