My baby is TEN!

For most people, Memorial Day revolves around barbecues, picnics, and parades remembering those who have died for this country, and we find time for those things too, but mostly our memorial days revolve around this girl, whose birthday usually falls on or around that last weekend in May.

So this Memorial Day weekend we found ourselves rollerblading
and getting our ears pierced.

(I say "our" because I took this opportunity to get mine re-pierced since they had closed up far too long ago
and I miss wearing earrings.)

Julia's siblings treated her very well and showered her with presents
which you can see that she was very excited about.
They also showered her with confetti.
I love this series of photos.
Go ahead and take a second look at the faces.
Makes. me. laugh......

This face just makes me smile.
It's hard to believe that my baby, my youngest is ten years old.

Great confetti faces. The first ear piercing picture tells me just what she was feeling that moment. Second picture...success.

oh I haven't been to a skating rink in FOREVER. And how did she do with the ear piercing? She doesn't look like it bothered her at all, haha, she looks happy :) What were the gifts? What were they, what were they?? I feel like I was there, but, without the twisted ankles and bruises from falling down in my skates, and without knowing what all the loving gifts were!

Ten is such a special birthday!! As a 4th grade teacher, it's one of my yearly thrills to watch kids "hit double-digits!" There's a great kids book called "The Big One-O" - wonder if she would like it?

I also love that you took her to get her ears pierced! Such a rite of passage!!

Looks like a GREAT celebration. Love all the pics.

Happy 10th to Julia! What a wonderful accomplishment and I'm so stealing the confetti idea.

Seriously Julia's expression in all the pictures is so sweet and innocent. Makes me want to just bottle up all that warm affection on her face.

I heard those bracelets are pretty controversial- and i had no idea what they are, but, clearly, she was in the know!
