On my mind...

On my mind
For Today...
June 1, 2010

Outside my window... it's pitch black.  I'm blogging a little on the late side today.

I am thinking...  that that was the absolute worst episode of Glee that I have ever watched.  Yuck!  I've pretty much loved it since day one, but that was awful, just awful.

I am thankful for...really super nice bloggers like Bec and Julie, who saw fit to bestow this award on me recently.

(Well not that recently, but I'm a bit of a procrastinator, so there it is.)
I never know how to approach one of these bloggy awards and I never play the game right.
Sorry.
But I do want to say that I am always amazed and thankful for the wonderful people that I've met through blogging.  Thank you for following and for your comments.  It makes all the difference in the world.

I'm wearing... a green tank top and denim capris that just happen to be a size smaller than the ones I was wearing last time I wrote one of these "on my mind" posts.  I'd like them to be lots of sizes smaller, but you know... baby steps.  :)

I am remembering...my friend Sonya from high school, whose face just showed up on my followers list.
Hi, Sonya!  I want to thank you for selling me your Atari and for letting me watch Friday night videos at your house.  Fun!

I am creating...more lists.  I wasn't always a list person, but now I find that if I don't make lists, nothing gets done!

I am going... to have to get up far too early in the morning to get the kids to school.  I am so ready for summer vacation!  I want to wake up on my own schedule and not theirs.

I am reading...nothing right now, but I read Danielle Steel's Matters of the Heart on Saturday.  Read the whole thing in one day.  Not because it was exceptionally good, but because I needed some brain candy and that filled the bill.  It truly was not good, but I wanted to follow through and see if the girl ever came to her senses and dumped the idiot in the end.

Song that is playing over and over in my head...I Want You by the Beetles....it's driving me mad, it's driving me mad...

I am hoping...that tomorrow is a productive day.  It looks like a busy one, but that's a good thing.  The busier the better.

Noticing that... I didn't do much blogging this weekend.  I guess I needed a bloggy break.  We were pretty busy celebrating Julia's birthday, so I guess that explains it for the most part.

From the kitchen...well... the nice thing about 11pm is that I don't really have to worry about that too much.  And now that I think of it, I don't think I'll be doing much cooking tomorrow either.  We'll be out of the house for most of the day.

Around the house...the washing machine needs to be coerced into running a full cycle (but I can still make it work)  and now my dryer is broken.   I'm going to have to get a repairman out here soon, but in the meantime, I'm drying my clothes outside, which I'd like better if it didn't take so long.  I don't mind the extra time outside, though. :)

One of my favorite things... summer thunderstorms. (Except, of course, when I'm trying to dry my clothes.)

A few plans for the rest of the week...  the girls have riding lessons tomorrow and Grant has a recital on Friday.  Kevin takes his SAT's on Saturday and I'm going to DC for the "I heart faces" photo walk!  Can't wait!!

A picture I would like to share... Julia enjoying the brief summer shower

Okay, I only got as far as the thing about Glee... and had to comment right away (don't worry, I'll go back and read the rest later... priorities, woman!)...

Eeee! I've loved Glee from the start, but it's gone downhill the last few episodes. It's on in 15 minutes... oops, now 14... and I'm on the edge of my seat. I really wanted it to be good, but now, after what you said... ? Ack!

I'll get back to you!

Wonderful post :) Danielle Steel....lol. I went throught a DS phase once...but after about the third book wherein the upper class young lady got pregnant out of wedlock, and then tragically miscarried...I got bored ;)

Ha! Great shot of Julia, and that rain is coming stright down and hard too. I got that Versatile blogger thing too and it had me totally perplexed. I even looked up the definition of "versatile" because it had me so confused. As I'm still sitting on mine, I think you handled it beautifully. :)

She's so cute! What is it about kids and rain? I find if I make lists I get nothing done cuz I'm so caught up in making the list. lol

Congratulations on the award! I think you deserved it as much as you deserved your bloggy break. Celebrating Julia's birthday is more important than blogging!
I'm going to be on a bloggy break for two weeks as we're leaving on holiday a week from Friday. No Internet where I'm going and besides, I don't want to blog when I'm on vacation. It's not the first time!
Oooooh and congratulations on the weight loss, one size less is just wonderful. I'm still going strong here as well, but I will be taking a break from my diet as well when I'm in France! LOL!

I love summer rain...but Texas summer thunderstorms are brutal. They are too loud and too torrential. I much prefer the ones we used to have in Hawaii. It was my favorite thing to do...go running or walking out in the downpour.

Atari...I loved playing Atari :)

here is my "list" of comments.

1. congrats on the award! You are VERY VERSATILE.

2. smaller pants is smaller pants, rock on!

3. The preggo dancing scene kinda creeped me out. AND the egging? How cruel. Hopefully it doesn't give kids ideas. I remember being beat on, but never egged. Humiliating!

4. I have never heard this Beatles song and I thought I had heard them all.Has such a "needy" dark feel to it, New FAVORITE! Thanks!!!!

5. I took a bloggy break this weekend, too. I had so much going on. I'm not even going to blog all about it either. lol, I'm so bad.

6. It is super DARK (very moody) and rainy here. I think we're in for some BIG thunderstorms. Yeeee-hawww!!!

7. I wanted to participate in the i heart faces walk, but they are going to be in down town Detroit. Um yeah, not my favorite place to take pictures. Maybe if I wanted to be morbid??? The Belle isle scott fountain is stunning, but not worth getting shot at for.

--> the end.
