Summer is in full swing!

Summer arrived a few weeks ago and it's been pretty much non-stop busy-ness.
(This has put a serious crimp in my blogging, but I'm pretty sure it's been worth it.)

My sister and her cuties spent the last two weeks here.
We spent our days keeping the kids busy and enjoying their company.

After I'd officially had a day or two since they left to sit back and do nothing,
I wondered, "What exactly did we do for the last two weeks?

(I have a remarkably short memory.  Good thing I took lots of pictures.)

We started out at my grandmother's house/playground and visited with cousins.
(Second cousins? Second cousins once removed?  Does it matter?)

The kids threw rocks, climbed trees, cooked smores
and posed for the obligatory picture with their Great- Grandmother.

We took the time to tour the town's free carousels.
There are six in the area, but we only got to three of the closer ones.

You can only spin in circles for so long!

On most of our road trips, we try to make quick pit stops, just long enough to stretch our legs
and get something to eat, but this time we decided to make a fun stop.

Hershey's Chocolate World!
Yum!!
There were characters, ice cream, gifts, and a little ride,
but the best part may have been the world's largest chocolate bar.

That kept us in chocolate for the next couple of weeks.
Sadly, it's all gone now.  :(
We took the kids to the botanical gardens.
This was great until we were done feeding the fish, then they kind of lost interest.
I believe the Bataan Death march was mentioned.

Most of our fun was a little closer to home.
Somersaults, scooters...

And hopscotch!

But the best thing was the little pool that we set up in the back yard.

It wasn't big, but it provided hours of enjoyment.

We even let them swim in the middle of a rain shower.
Initially, the kids thought I was crazy, but it didn't take long for them to get into it.
I mean... wet is wet, right?

How fun! Your pictures make me want to go swimming. I love the pic of the kids with great-grandma and the giant Hershey bar picture. Now you just need a giant marshmallow and graham cracker, and that would be one awesome s'more!

I had been wondering about you. Looks like you had a wonderful couple of weeks! If you can believe it, a couple of years ago hubs and I stopped at Hershey World just long enough to get some chocolate and a couple of t-shirts, lol.

Such fun shots! Seeing the Hershey stuff made me miss PA- it was only a day trip away to get there :) I loved the Kisses on the lights and them smell of chocolate in the air- everywhere! DOn't know if they pipe it out like that any more, but boy did my nose like it and I"m not even a chocoholic!!
