If I've learned anything while blogging, I've learned a lot of photography lingo and many tricks to improve my picture taking.
And once in a while I stumble upon something that I totally understand and I get some decent photos,
but if anyone were to ask me how I did it, I'd probably sound an awful lot like this guy in this commercial.
Have you seen it?
Some people (photographers) seem to find it offensive.
Eh... get over it.
I personally find it hysterical simply because it sounds exactly like me, or what I'm thinking when someone asks me about my pictures.
How did you do it? Ummmm.... very well?
Honestly... I feel so dumb sometimes and when a concept finally clicks,
I feel like smacking myself in the forehead... DUH!
Or maybe I should be saying, "AHA!"
or Eureka!
or Voila!
or something like that.
Fortunately, I've been having a few more AHA! moments lately
and I'm feeling a little less like that guy in the commercial.
That's cool.
(oh great... having said all that, I can't find a single picture that I want to share with you to "prove" my point that I haven't already posted.)
( Figures...)

Oh... this is where I laugh my ass off. (now wouldn't that be nice, new cardio!) anyway... THAT IS ME! I adore photographers that can spit out their f stops and their ISO. Not me! I'm completely unequipped to answer questions. ha...
I am so glad that you feel the same way. Really! Especially since I love your work. But you know that.
That commercial gets me EVERY time. I was rolling the first time I saw it :D I am with ya sister.
Hugs
Funny stuff. Never seen it before. But a part of me takes it very seriously, because what? F-stop? It's going to be different in different lighting, right? Or aperture? Same thing, right? Or does this show how abysmally obtuse I am about photography? Yes, I too am like this guy. Cheers!
I know I'm farther behind, but i feel like my pictures get worse and worse the more I mess. I think I was better with point and shoot :). Still trying to figure out aperture and f stop and whatever the rest of it is. :). Sounds like it continues to be a guessing game for quite a while.
Colleen, you've been posting some really gorgeous photos lately. You are not shooting on automatic, and you are not the guy in this ad! lol!
thats funny.
You know enough photography lingo to fool me that's for sure.
HAHA! Thats funny :) Im going to have to try that sometime..."Very big." Loved your pictures that youve posted lately too.
OMG I love it!!! That’s how I feel! I have to join in with everyone in saying; your pictures have been truly gorgeous!
the commercial is pretty funny!!!
ha ha! i love it. i feel the same way. I dont think you need to know a lot just as long as you have an eye for it thats all that matters. I have no idea really what and how I do things I just know if I mess around long enough I get the result I want! ha ha. great post.
Haha...too funny. :)
I know exactly how you feel, Colleen. I have finally had a few AHA moment myself. :) I think it takes a while for certain concepts to sink into my brain. LOL
