Normal and wonderful...

It's 8:45 am on this Sunday morning.

Most of the kids are still asleep (we had a late night last night) and I'm enjoying some quiet time with a cup of tea. As I sit in my living room that is still cluttered with boxes, I can hear the neighborhood and the surrounding town begin to wake up.

I can hear my neighbor's one year old chattering away as he gets some early morning out-door play time in.  From the lake (which I live near, but not on)  comes the distant noise of jet-ski engines as people revel in the rare but wonderful sunshine.  Yes, it hasn't rained once since I've arrived here two weeks ago, but I know that the rain will come soon enough.

Remnants of a neighborhood barbecue remain on my friend's driveway across the street.
Once everyone is awake and has some caffeine, I imagine we'll all be out there to clean the rest of it up.
All in all... life is good.
And on this anniversary of one of the most terrible-awful days, it's nice to know that life goes on in all the most normal and wonderful ways.

Beautiful simple post. I closed my 10 on 10 post with much the same feeling. The anniversary deserves mentioning, but it makes the normal details of our boring days feel so much more precious.

Oh yes, I am so happy that you guys are settling into some sort of normal! It feels good, I am sure after months and months of getting this move underway. Sit back and enjoy your tea. You deserve to savour this!!! ;D
HUGS to you.

I've never been much for mornings, but my wee ones are early risers, I'm really learning to love the serenity of the early hours.
