A Photography Experiment

With all my excitement about the wonderful weather that we received over the weekend,
you'd think I'd have some sort of Spring related post for today,
But I've had this photo saved since last Monday,
when I took some time out of a rather gray and rainy day to get a little creative.
I found a tutorial for making a light box that looked easy enough and I gave it a try.
All it took to make this was a cardboard box, tissue paper, a piece of poster board,
packing tape and an exacto knife.
Fortunately, no fingers were sliced off in the making of this light box.
I still need to do a little more work with both the light box and the camera to get exactly what I want.
The apple picture above was taken with only the lamp on the left turned on.
The pics below were taken with both lamps turned on.
There were a few pictures that may have benefited from an overhead lamp as well.
I also think the white balance was off a bit, so I may have to adjust that next time.
All in all, it was a fun experiment.

Check out more close ups here.

Ok that is not only crafty, but what a fun idea. I'm gonna have to try that.

I love the apple, but I'm fond of the vase. The black one. Great shot!

Happy Monday Chica.

wait it wasn't the vase... it was the egg. I like the egg! Opps, I'm still on my 1st cup of coffee.

I keep meaning to try making a lightbox like that! Perhaps when I get my 'hobby room' (eventually!) I'll do it!

Great pictures. I love the very, very soft, almost non-existent shadows on some of those.

That is very impressive. Now I have to nag my DH to make mine too hehe. If we like to have a black background can we just change the white board to black? By the way great macro shots here.
