On Monday I decided that it would be our last school day until after the holidays.
As a homeschooling mom, I get to do that.
:)
(Don't ask me about the two in public school...
it so annoys me that they have to be in school until the 23rd!)
I was ready for a break
and when I counted out the days until Christmas
and saw that there were 12 left,
I figured we could have the 12 days of Christmas break!
We aren't going to buy any partridges or pear trees
maybe we'll do a little dancing and leaping
... it's possible,
but I definitely wanted to do something Christmassy each day.
Today, we took an idea from Crafty Crow and made a couple of ornaments.
Very easy and very fun!
The only tough part was waiting for the crystals to form.
Not that it took terribly long (just a few hours)
but we kept going back to look and see if anything was happening.
(Not just Julia either... me too!)
We're loving the results.
So sparkly and magical!
Tomorrow, we're getting haircuts, buying Christmas outfits and doing a little gift shopping!

Oh, I want 12 days off! Can you be my teacher too?
I love this idea! But I'm scared to try it. I'm very accident-prone. :P
I can't believe the kids go to school until the 23rd. That's unreal! I remember about a week of vacation from when I was a kid. The others are lucky to have you for their teacher as well as their mom. :)
Wow, those ornaments are so pretty!
And 12 days of Christmas vacation sounds like it was meant to be ... but I feel for your other two!
that is crazy that they have school until the 23rd!! Beautiful ornaments. Looks like fun ;)
The ornaments are nice. I really like the picture with Julia watching patiently.
So pretty! I wish I were in homeschool instead of work.
Very cool pics! Love the one of her peeking, and the steam rising from the jar.
You must be using your 50mm more?
I love those ornaments! I need to do something crafty like that. I can't imagine being in school until the 23rd. My son gets out this Friday. Merry Christmas!
The ornaments turned out beautifully! Your pictures are beautiful and are making me feel all Christmassy inside. =)
Good for you for allowing a Christmas break. Kids here get two weeks off for Christmas, which is nice for just about everyone.
Love the ornaments. Who says you have to be a kid to make these.? :)) I'm going to check out how you made them.
Love the ornaments! And enjoy your extended break! :)
i love these ornaments...i wonder if i have any christmas colored pipe cleaners? the kids would have fun and it would give them something to do.
