Disjointed thoughts and old pictures

Good morning.

I'm sitting here with my cup of tea fighting the overwhelming urge to crawl back into bed.
So sleepy....

Yesterday was another warm Monday followed directly by a rainy Tuesday.
(We seem to have a bit of a trend going.)

Outside my window a squirrel just jumped off the fence and onto my neighbor's magnolia tree causing the faded blooms to fall to the ground.
The grass is getting greener and higher.
Someone is going to have to mow that... I just don't know who that will be.

My radio/tv station that normally plays pretty current music is having an 80's flashback.
"Hey now, hey now. Don't dream it's over...."
Strange.

(Gotta love these kids)

Google tells me that it's the fiftieth anniversary of the first human spaceflight. Go Yuri!

I also think that this is the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War.
Oh, hey... I just looked it up. Sure enough, it is.
The only reason that even crossed my mind is very simply the fact that I live in Virginia and while I was dropping the kids off at school this morning the local radio show was asking Civil War trivia questions. Now... I know Virginians love them some Civil War history, but that struck me as odd until I did the math.

I'm not a fan of Civil War history.

Love that last shot. We don't get much history on the radio out here... then again, I can't remember the last time I really listened to the radio, it seem like nothing good is on it anymore.

Whenever we would drive to see our cousins who lived in Richmond I noticed that the radio tended to talk all about history and monuments, too. Same phenomenon whenever we would travel down to visit friends in Gettysburg- so funny!

I'm having a day like that too, but Champ is home on Spring Break (ha, he sounds like a college kid!) so I really should take advantage of the extra man power around here and team up to get some cleaning done!!! We'll see... ;)

I love your posts! I feel like I travel when I read them or something. I love history. Any kind. I would love to live in Virginia! Also? I don't think you need to cut that grass. That picture of it is mighty pretty!

I became a fan of CW history when I started researching my genealogy and found two soldiers, one whose letters remain and I inherited them. Then I read Killer Angels, a really WELL written, readable historic novel. I was hooked after that.

I a) would now like to crawl back in bed after seeing yours b) would not have to be the one to cut the grass, though. I just adore that sunglass shot. Can we be any more glamourous?

Laughing about your civil war history comment ... mostly because it hits close to home. Hubby loves that kind of stuff, and it's all lost on me, even on big anniversaries and such.
Enjoy the weather! Hope it lasts for you guys.

She does look so grown up in those shades. And there you go rockin' another moon pic.

I swear you had a movie star on your blog with those sunglasses. I think need some oversized ones to try and look that chic.
