Today is Tuesday...

I titled this that way only to remind myself.
Ever since school ended and summer began, I can hardly keep track of which day is which.
The schedule that is my backbone, that keeps me moving, has been ripped away
leaving me drifting aimlessly from moment to moment and day to day.

For some that may seem wonderful, but I don't like it.
I like having plans and goals and activities.
I also like having down time, but only if there is "up" time to balance it all out.

You would think that with all this free time I'd get something done,
but I wander from computer to tv to book.
I stare at the unmade bed and the half-filled dishwasher and feel no compulsion to finish the tasks.
There is no deadline to spur me on, no clock to race against.
And it's only been a week.

Time to create a summer day schedule.
Something a little more substantial, but still fun.

So smart. I had to do that too. It’s so easy to wander from one thing to another, and not get what you need to do done. I’m a total checklist/schedule person.

I can see how that can happy. For me, of course, Monday eventually rolls around along with the need to jump on a bus and go back to work :( Then again, this Fall was the first one of mine was in grade school, so when I was home, I was used to them being there with me 24/7! Schedules are good as long as they are filled with fun stuff :)

I keep thinking I need to make up a schedule for myself and the kids too... and I only have one in school and he's been off for summer already a month!

Enjoy it!! I am completely envious of days wandering from TV to computer to book.

That is exactly how I was when Bear was away for the week. I lost all sense of time and schedule, but I didn't like it! I'm all for schedules- they can be flexible, but I need something tangible to help me add rhythm to my day.

It is weird to get used to... especially that first week. I am sure you will get a new summer groove going that works and feels just right!
